I wrote this as a car passenger to Manchester Airport, this is how much I needed to make the time as I am a complete rubbish passenger! Before I go on any further I should apologise for not getting this blog posted sooner and I must do better.
Life kind of took over, as it does. The usual really, kiddos, husband, friends and work. So they are all really good reasons in my eyes but work has been particularly busy over the last few weeks and I've been preparing for my holiday - yay. I do love my job (most of the time) but I definitely love my holidays more so the hard work is worth it. If you follow us on social media you will also know we've been away for the last week, and I still haven't published this blog, but no panic it's ready for you lovelies now.
Anyhow. On to the lovely spa day, although I don't really want to focus on that part too much other than brunch with a bottle or two of prosecco followed by an afternoon in the spa with treatments is one of my best ways to relax. Take a few hours off from being mom, wife, worker.
What does that leave? Some good quality time with your friends. We are a very lucky bunch and all make time for each other in different ways but it's always great when we all get together - just us. We catch up on how everyone is, chat and laugh but most of all just relish the time together. And, from time to time guzzle the vino. How many times do you and your friends get together with the kids and have 5,000 broken conversations whilst you are tending to the little peoples needs and feel like you had so many things to talk about but didn't get chance?
For me, the key thing is how important the time is and how much better you feel for taking that time out. I have more patience with the kids and the husband.......... for a while anyway. I feel refreshed going back into work and just generally more content.
Of course it goes without saying that there are many ways you can get this time out it doesn't have to be in a spa but if you ask me, it adds to the enjoyment. I love being with the girls and making time to be there, to enjoy their company and have a giggle.
I hope I get the message across loud and clear how much I value my friendships, not just those on this spa day but all of them. They are all unique and amazing in their own ways and they really have kept me sane and smiling over the years. So here's to many more good times, more spa days and making time for friends. Clink clink to all the friendships out there 🥂
